Accessories for Up Dos

Great news! Any accessory you choose will work well with an up do and your hair stylist will know exactly what to do with the one you choose.

If you’re thinking of wearing your hair down though, see my advice for fine hair, thick or curly hair and short hair for your best pieces!

If you’re set on a particular style, here are my suggestions for what will work best for you…

Best for plaits and buns: Hair pins and vines

Hair pins and vines both work beautifully in buns and plaits as they both give density and shape to your hair.

Hair pins can be slotted through a plait and around the base of a bun, while hair vines can be weaved through plaits or wrapped around buns.

You can also achieve the effect of a vine using hair pins with longer details - perfect for the effect of a vine through a plait without getting your hair tangled up in a vine!

Best for chignons and Twists: Hair Vines, combs and pins

Again, both of these styles give something for your accessory to grip in to, meaning that your style can hold a little more weight than if your hair were loose.

Best for ponytails: Pins and Vines

A few hair pins or a vine wrapped around the base of a ponytail looks really pretty.

You could have strands made from clear wire and crystals that cascade through your ponytail from the top of the pin, making your ponytail sparkle when the light catches it.
