All In This Together
Rather than starting this post with the usual “this is a really difficult time” line, I want to say that I’m sorry.
Ok, I know that none of this is my personal fault and I’m one of those people who says sorry a lot (you know, when someone bumps in to me, I say sorry…I’m that person!) but I don’t know how else to express my thoughts for you at the moment.
Having to postpone your wedding must have been upsetting for you. That’s probably an understatement isn’t it? I’m sorry that you’re dealing with a lot of uncertainty right now - I think that’s the worst part. Not knowing what’s going to happen next and everything being up in the air provokes more anxiety, doesn’t it?
I think you’re amazing. In my last post, I shared about how grateful I am to those people working to keep our country running and keep people well, healthy and alive. But I think we’re all amazing for showing so much resilience at this time. And you, my lovely bride-to-be, are incredible. Not only have you had to leave your wedding date in the hands of fate, which must have been really emotional, but you’re still keeping a smile on your face and continuing to plan and prepare. And I want to let you know that we’re all there with you :)
The wedding industry as a whole is struggling with numbers being restricted at venues and events, and social distancing measures making it nearly impossible for you to try on wedding dresses, have hair and makeup trials and possibly even get a registrar. It’s not the end of the world though and we must remember: things will get better. We will all bounce back from this eventually and this time has given us all some thinking space to be creative in how we can support you best on the way to the “new normal”.
The White Wed community has been a great source of support for us wedding professionals and together, we wanted to let you know that we will still be here for you. There will still be a cake for you to cut and lots of champagne to be drunk, wedding dresses to try on and suits to be tailored. There will still be beautifully decorated venues and timeless wedding photos to put on your wall and beautifully designed accessories and fragrant bouquets to finish it all off. We’re just sorry it’s not now.
But as they say, the best things come to those who wait. So your day, lovely, will be exquisite.
Raise a glass on your wedding day, hold each other tight and think of it this way - what an incredible tale to tell your children and grandchildren in the future.
Thank you to Steph from Venues Covered for coordinating this photo shoot with a few of us from the WhiteWed Directory - I think she captured the sentiment beautifully.
I’ve listed all the suppliers here, from top to bottom and left to right, but please visit Loved by White Wed to view the whole directory of wonderful suppliers.
