How Ros’ Engagement Ring Inspired Her Headpiece | Real Bride Inspiration
I speak to many brides who are looking for ways to coordinate their accessories with their dresses but have you considered coordinating them with your engagement ring?
Ros did just that and I thought it was a lovely way to add a sentimental touch to her accessories.
Ros has beautiful, red, flowing hair - one of my most favourite colours to work with. It can be a tricky balance to find things to compliment or stand out against it, but, after a chat, we decided to start with a silver base metal as it would be clearly visible in her hair and not clash with the colour, like gold or rose gold would.

Her engagement ring had an emerald at the centre and she had chosen beautiful emerald green dresses for her bridesmaids as a result, so it was natural that she wanted to extend the theme to her headpiece as well.
The exact tone of green was really important to Ros, so I sent her some images of crystal colours to choose her favourite and she sent me pictures of the bridesmaid dresses to see what I thought.
We were both on the same page, choosing Swarovski’s Emerald as the splash of colour for her hair vine and her bridesmaid’s hair pins.
We decided to work around a leaf brooch as a central feature, creating delicate branches with pops of green along the vine. Ros decided she didn’t want any flowery detail to it, so I kept it simple and elegant, with delicate pearl and silver branches alongside the emerald green.
To tie everything together, I took details from Ros’ vine and added them to her bridesmaids’ pins. We’d originally been working to a different design, like the ones I’d created for her sister-in-law a year or so earlier but once she saw her finished vine, she was open to suggestions and fell in love with the details I added.
Ros was so happy with the vine, which is always the highlight of my job! Wishing her and Nick a very happy ever after!
