Beth Candy was one of my biggest cheerleaders throughout 2020 and I loved every minute of working with her.

I was drawn to her personality and stories on Instagram and knew we’d be a great fit for each other!

When she posted an inspiration picture on her grid where the bride appeared to have pearls floating through her ponytail and asked how it might be possible, I was flooded with ideas for how to make it happen!

I shared some suggestions and then we arranged to meet on Zoom to talk through some ideas. Having learnt a lot about Beth’s wedding through her Instagram, I had some ideas in mind and got them ready beforehand so I could help her to visualise what I was talking about.

I suggested the idea of using clear wire to suspend different shaped beads that would flow through her ponytail, with two pins having crystal floral details at the top.

Beth fell in love with the idea and it wasn’t long before we were narrowing down the shades of blue she wanted!

I’m so excited that I genuinely cannot find the words to describe how I’m feeling! I can’t wait to see them!

She opted for three shades of blue crystals, with clear crystal accents and white pearls and decided to treat her bridesmaids to a set of pins each. Beth shared that one of her bridesmaids, Lucy, had short hair and was wearing a suit to the wedding, so I designed a brooch for her to compliment Beth and her bridesmaids’ pins.

I really enjoyed working on Beth’s pins as it was a new challenge for me. I carefully planned out the order and pattern of beads beforehand so that they would be staggered through her ponytail, making sure they were the same length as her hair extensions.

I carefully measured between details so the pins would flow together and gently threaded and looped the wire through each bead to secure it in place.

The result was incredible in Beth’s hair and I love how her hairdresser, Kerstieann, weaved them through her plaits too!

OMG They are so much better than I could have ever imagined! Sarah, they’re so beautiful!

Beth’s bridesmaids’ pins featured large crystal and pearl details, giving a slightly geometric, modern edge and Lucy’s brooch featured the same crystals and pearls clustered together on a brooch.

Lucy later decided that she would also like to wear something in her hair, so Beth and I designed a side tiara for her that was simple, elegant and coordinated with her brooch.

Beth, I loved working with you and I’m so glad that you and Alex had the wedding day of your dreams! Thank you for being one of my biggest cheerleaders, staying true to yourself and being an Elsa Rose Bride! I’m looking forward to following your adventures as Mr and Mrs Candy and wish you all the best for married life.
