Real Bride Inspiration: How Jasmine Made A Ready-Made Design All Her Own
I LOVE being able to bring you some more real bride stories now weddings are up and running again!
Today I’m featuring Jasmine and Luke. I actually worked with Jasmine’s mum, Tina, years ago and had heard so much about her. She’s a real inspiration to me.
Tina had shown me some of the campaigns that Jasmine had done to raise money and awareness for her condition, Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2, and I was beyond excited to be meeting and working with her!
Jasmine’s condition means she’s unable to stand or walk independently. I’m in awe of how she manages her condition and shares her experience so openly and honestly, she’s a real advocate for people with disabilities. Her optimism and real talk are endearing, and I’ve learnt so much about how she navigates life, how inaccessible many places (and people) are and how she’s found her perfect match in her husband, Luke, by following her on Instagram.
(She’s also been signed with modelling agency Able Model Management, and I couldn’t be more proud for her - this woman is going to break boundaries and I hope we can see her on the cover of a wedding magazine in the not too distant future!)

I felt like I was catching up with an old friend when I walked in to Jasmine’s home. Out of the pieces I took to show her, she fell in love with this piece, which had been featured in a shoot with Memoires en Or in Canada.
She clearly has good taste! ;)
Jasmine loved the idea of wearing her vine around the back of her head, but having it long enough that it could be seen at the front. As the details in the original design were quite sparse, we decided to add in branches of freshwater pearls to give the vine the detail Jasmine wanted, and extend it so that it could easily be seen from the front.
Jasmine’s mum, Tina, also wanted something for her hair, so I designed a smaller vine that used details from Jas’. As Tina loved the idea of flowers with three petals, I added a couple along her vine so it tied in with Jas’ but was still unique to her.
To complete the set, Jasmine chose individual hair clips for her four bridesmaids, each one featuring the same rose quartz flower with a golden centre as Jasmine had in her vine, plus a delicate branch of pearls.
After a lot of worries and postponed dates throughout the pandemic, Jasmine and Luke got married on a bright Autumn day in October, surrounded by their families and friends. Jas and Luke, I wish you the brightest of futures together, thank you for letting me contribute a small part to your day.
